Matics International Education UG was founded in Berlin in 2015. Integration was a focus from the start: language and education courses as well as information and orientation work for migrants and refugees – at various locations across Berlin, including directly inside refugee shelters, where we were one of the few providers allowed to teach on site. As an education provider approved under AZAV, we also ran qualification courses in the educational and social field, for example for care and early-years professions, and supported organisations in setting up childcare centres – from concept to implementation.
That describes how we work quite well: we go where we are needed, even when it is inconvenient. We think conceptually and bring concepts into practice. And we look for new ways when the usual ones don't work.
Alongside the educational work itself, we have deep experience in what lies behind it: planning programmes, meeting funders' requirements, organising administration and documentation – and increasingly digitalising these processes. Out of that grew our second focus: digitalisation, AI and process design, now with our own software projects, above all for the care sector.
Today we bring both together and look for partnerships in Europe where this expertise is useful. Matics is a small organisation – a fixed core, plus freelance trainers depending on the project.
Team
Background in mathematics, Quality Manager (TÜV), Six Sigma Green Belt, Scrum Master. Responsible for project management, quality assurance and cooperation with partners.
Experienced trainers from language, integration and social work. Multilingual, with practical experience in refugee accommodation and educational institutions.
Design and implementation of digital tools for social and health services, together with external development partners.
